The Golf du Touquet was inaugurated on the 24th of May 1904 by Lord Balfour, British Prime Minister. It was the third one built in France. It has two outstanding courses:
- The championship links course La Mer, which hosted the French Open a number of times.
Designed by Harry S. Colt (1931), laid out amongst wild sand dunes, it is a real test of your game, particularly under windy conditions. Local advice is to "take a lot of balls because of the rough".
Set amidst a preservation area, no buildings will spoil the beauty of the sights; you will hear the waves all along, but will have to wait for the 18th tee to see the Channel.
Hire a buggy or go by car to the car park next to the first tee.
Maximum handicap required is 24 for gentlemen and 28 for ladies. - The more traditional parkland La Forêt.
Created in 1904, it is located in the heart of an old pine forest and demands accuracy more than length. Many holes allow for a wide landing area for the drive, and a green surrounded by trees and sand, permitting some very attractive shots. Being careful on the par-3s generally leads to a good score-card. Maximum handicap required is 35 for gentlemen and for ladies.
A practice range, putting greens, pitching and chipping areas complete the setting.

SKATE n ROLLER, SAILING AND MORE
At the north end of the beach, just before the estuary park, in the last parking after the Aqualud, there is a skate park with ramps and that kind of stuff. Kids (and some not so young adults) like to hang around with their skates and boards.
